Our Story

Who Is
VRAP?

I’m the founder of Veterans Reloading Assistance Program Inc. (EIN: 84-3443421), serving South Central Idaho Veterans and beyond. Our nonprofit, designated as a 501(c)3 organization, is dedicated to aiding Veterans in casting bullets or reloading their own ammunition without the burden of significant equipment expenses.

A Veteran, for our purposes, is defined as a former or currently employed individual in Military, Dispatch, EMS, Fire, or Law Enforcement. We provide all the necessary tools and literature neatly packed in a 20mm ammo can for local Veterans or shipped via USPS for those at a distance.

The Veteran only needs to supply their own primers, powder, casings, and bullets, enabling them to load at their residence. We also offer some casings and bullets if available. It’s important to note that I don’t load for other people, and we don’t hold a Class VI FFL.

Our setup has already been utilized by a few individuals, fostering good conversation and a sense of camaraderie. Additionally, we maintain a small “library” of dies in various calibers, and Veterans can request others beyond the standard military calibers. Die rings are reset, requiring the Veteran to adjust and load independently.

I’m currently seeking any caliber of dies, equipment, or presses. While trading is preferred, I’m open to reasonable deals and not interested in paying new prices with a 30% markup. If you have extra dies or equipment for donation or sale, please get in touch. Donations totaling over $250 will receive a tax write-off.

I’m also on the lookout for plastic die boxes without dies. If you’d like to donate or send items anonymously, you can use the following address:

P.O. Box 351
Carey, ID 83320

Currently, there are 23 reloading sets circulating in the USA, and we initiated local classes for beginner reloaders in October 2022. We’ve also set up a Facebook Messenger group to facilitate teaching and support for those already in the program. If you’d like to join the group, please let me know.

Thank you for your support and consideration.

Expanding our scope, I’ve started gathering casting molds and equipment for use in a similar fashion to reloading. Veterans will provide the consumable material, mixing it as needed to create the finished product. I handle all equipment maintenance and promptly replace any broken parts.
