Home Security

Post by Roby.evans »

Good morning,
I have recently upgraded my home security with the one pictured, if you are in the need to upgrade or install this one is dang good. It has the ability to speak two through the cameras, have sirens, automatically detect (humans) and send alerts to your devices and tell them to “Smile, you are being recorded” when detected.
I bought a switch that allows me to at the touch of a button change the HDMI input between computer and Security DVR. Make life easier. You can also purchase wireless cameras to add to this system as well (4 more) for my system that is not feasible for running cable. Comes with 8 cameras and 8 60’ cables and you can purchase 100’ cables and connectors at HD or Lowe’s, etc. going out to 300’ according to NightOwls website.
I am not an expert or anything this is just a suggestion and my opinion/choice as a graduate of the Corps of Engineers Electronic Security Systems School in Huntsville, AL. I also have installed inside house near gun safe etc. DVR is stored inside hidden wall to prevent bad guys from taking DVR if they make it into the house.

Eric, I’m not a fan of ANYONE monitoring my house other than my wife and I, no Alexa or AI group, removed the Nest thermostat as well when we bought the house, and I usually have Siri turned off too. I keep laptops camera covered and disabled too, even though the camera is supposed to be disabled some folks have had theirs hacked.
Just my opinion

On the flip side of that though is the monitored service. Ring saved my house before.
