Breakfast with God 20250728

Post by Roby.evans »

Good Morning Friends,

What sets us apart as Christians from the world? Grace, but I ask what we as Christians are doing with the grace bestowed upon us by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul tells us in Colossians 4: 2-6 NKJV to continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so you may know how you ought to answer each one.

In the above Scripture there are multiple missions and precepts that we should be exemplifying in our daily walk with God as we are His tools to spread the Gospel to all ends of the World as given in The Great Commission Matthew 28:16-20. When we, “Christians” who have been bought and paid for and are “bondslaves” to the Lord are interacting daily with the “World” unbelievers or those who have not tasted the sweet mana of Grace, we should start each day as Paul says, earnestly in prayer. We are to be vigilant in our thanksgiving and praying for those whose divine providence is service to the Lord that they may be successful in the Great Commission. Are you praying for your Pastor, your Sunday School teachers, your Deacons and Elders of the Church, if not now is a great time to start. Make a note and place it on your coffee pot or fridge door that says, “Pray Now” do not hesitate and lift them up.

How about us, how are we perceived by the “World”, does our words and actions set us apart from them? Can someone tell by your speech that you are Saved by Grace? Think about your conversations yesterday, does everything you say and do reflect Jesus or just part of the time? This can be a hard look and I am guilty of having my reflection show more of the world than more of Jesus and it pains me so. I ask that you pick up your bible more than your I-Phone, spend more time in the Book than on Facebook, and spend more time in prayer than in idle talk and fruitless conversation. Spend more time sowing seeds of grace than seeds of the world. Test yourself with these precepts and you will be amazed by the crop you will harvest from your labor.

Father, thank you for your Word and the opportunities to share the Grace that only you can provide knowing that you don’t need me, but it is I that needs you. I lift up my Pastor this morning as I do every morning for your strength to steady him in this ever-darkening world that he continues to be a brilliant light leading the lost to you. I ask once again to be steadfast in my walk that I may be the example to the world, my friends and my family and that they may all see you through me in everything I say and do. Father, it is in Jesus most Holy of names I humbly ask these things as a bondslave to you. AMEN.
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13
