Breakfast with God 20250112

Post by Roby.evans »

Good Morning Friends,

I should have titled today’s a Coffee with God. It is simply amazing to me how the Word of God can just jump right off the pages of the bible and give me such a jolt. It can be like a double shot of Cuban Coffee, perhaps a Colada, you know those one’s they serve in the little thimbles that make Red Bull seem like buttermilk, or a Cortadito, or a Café con leche. It can open your eyes and narrow your focus at the same time… Psalm 73:21-25 NASB jump started me this morning.

When my heart was embittered And I was pierced within,
Then I was stupid and ignorant; I was like an animal before You.
Nevertheless, I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand.
You will guide me with Your plan and afterward receive me to glory.
Whom do I have in heaven but You? And with You, I desire nothing on earth.
My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

How beautiful is this promise? How many times I have been the subject of these verses, a victim of my own selfish desires and strayed from His calling, hidden in a cave like a starved animal, trapped and snarling over the gift of Manna being offered to me from the hands of the Shepard who knew I really wanted and needed Him but was afraid to fully trust Him and the gift He was offering to me. More than once I have bitten the hand that fed me the Manna and I resisted His gift, but He kept placing His hand forward until I fully trusted Him. I weep this morning over the wasted years and wasted opportunities, know though that He was with me then and with me now.

I have told folks over the years that, “The Lord is going to place you where He needs you, when He needs you, to do what He needs you to do for His glory and purpose. It is your choice whether you go willingly or go smelling of fish spit.” A Jonah reference here.

Father, I know that have a plan for each of our lives, I pray that my family and friends will open their heart and eyes to Your Word, and I ask The Holy Spirit to show us, lead us, guide us, teach us and we may taste the Manna and find that you oh Lord are opening up a world beyond the “right now” an eternal world with You. I love and I fully trust you and I give my life to you; I desire nothing on earth, only You oh Lord. Father, please bless my friends, family, and even my enemies with your presence in their lives. I ask in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13
