Is it My Church, or is it HIS Church?

Sadly this has become the mantra of too many churches and too many Preachers today. I read an article where a preacher stated, "I want to see my church succeed, my kingdom enlarged, my name magnified”. In that moment I realized that somewhere along the way, “Thy kingdom come” had become all jumbled up with “My kingdom come.” It is in my opinion many people (I can't call them worshipers) are coming NOT to hear Gods Word but to hear the preachers words, to feel good about themselves, not to give God praise and to worship Him, but to give praise to the preacher and music leader. Just as we as American try to legalize sin at every corner, it still does not make it acceptable in the Eyes of the Lord. Someday soon we will ALL be called to answer for what we have done with what the Lord has given us, just as in the Parable of the Talents, We must take what He has given us and invest it in His Name by spreading His Message (The Gospel), His Love, and His Mercy, and His Forgiveness as He has Commanded us to do. However, we cannot forget to mention His condemnation of sin and the consequences associated with them, this is where American preachers today are glossing over reality and eternity and neglecting His Word for their glory and their paychecks.
