Ammo Storage

Morning all,

Looking for recommendations for ammo cans! Debating between old school metal ammo cans and “new school” hard plastic ones. Of course I will be using silica packs in either. Will be storing in an insulated but detached garage in Central Kentucky. Also debating using the wife’s vapor seal machine to place 20 rounds flat and then stack in ammo cans.
Thoughts? Recommendations? Advice?

I loose-pack in 50 cal cans, but Idaho humidity is ALOT less than Kentucky.

I'm the same in northern Indiana I just put in either metal ammo can or plastic but humidity is as constant here as there so the air tight might not be a bad idea never thought about that

Roger, I’m planning on using the vacuum sealer and lay flat 20/30 round packs so they will lay flat in ammo can. Of course labeling with load data and date too for inventory reference.

I use the MGM plastic ones. This is some of them. I do have quite a few metal also.
