I was raised land-based Chair Force (dad was a Physical Therapist) and growing up Army and Navy were considered cuss words...you know, 4 letters and all. Dad said the Marines were the fighting part of the Navy, and Navy would give the jarheads a ride to tropical locations...

...that being said, one G'pa was a SeaBee in the pacific theatre until he started sniping the enemy with their own rifle and ammo...Other grandpa was a combat engineer in Europe. He was embedded deep enough that he arrive home in 1947. They didnt say much, but boy oh boy could they shoot.

That's pretty cool my grandpa was army he didn't talk about it much I know he was sent to Alaska is about as much as I was ever told

They only put marines on naval ships so the sailors have someone to dance with. ;)
