Not me, I did a straight 20 active.

They are different worlds, I was active for my tour, loved the first 3. Even though it was high tempo. Spent 6 weeks on call, 6 off. Burnt out twice. My Lt put my on quarters both times, Sucked it up and rested and back at it. PCS’d and the 4th sucked, all politicians. ETS’d and re-up at 10k over the pacific into the reserves. 2 months later doing an FTX I vowed if something happened I would find an Active Component. After that slowly over the next year we became “family”, There wasn’t any talk about that wasn’t my job. There was a task to be done we got it done some how some way. We run into each other and get together once in a while and still have each other’s backs.
Don’t get me wrong I loved my active time it’s just a different mentality

I did most all of them, AD, NG and Reserve for 28 years retired 2010, and finished off with Civil Service in 2025 full retired.
