As of 17 January 2023, the VA will provide, pay for or reimburse emergency care for qualifying Veterans and individuals. Including ambulance transportation, follow-up inpatient or residential care related to the event for up to 30 days and outpatient care for up to 90 days (including social work) Notifying VA of an emergency event allows covered Veterans to have their emergency treatment authorized by VA.
