Nothing to Debate with these calibers

Both calibers are substantially different from each other and both are exceptional when used for their intended purpose. I’ve always been partial to the .45 since I was trained on it in Army AIT, but when the 10mm came out I just had to try it out. It’s an amazing caliber with great stopping power but where the 10mm has great stopping power at longer distances than the 45. I figure if I have to shoot something I want a weapon that makes a hole big enough to drive a truck through. There are lots of pipe hitters on here with greater experience and knowledge than I and would love to hear their thoughts.

When i first joined the Army in ‘83 we were still carrying the old Colt .45 that was tried and true through several wars, still a huge fan of it for sheer power. Then came the Baretta 9 mm, ugh!!! My son has 21 years in the Navy and they swear by the 10mm, and of course we kid each other about which is best (Army vs Navy) I guess the Navy didnt want something that would poke a hole in their precious hulls where as us old grunts want to make a hole big enough to drive a M1 Abrams through.

I prefer a mix...45 acp shooting a 40 cal bullet. In a 1911. Try out a 400 CorBon... ;)
