Good morning friends.

I have a few questions: Are you Gratefully Humble, or Grumbly Hateful? Does the Grace of God that is extended to ALL offend you?

Are you a long-time church member who has worked and served in multiple capacities over the majority of your Christian life and been a member of a specific church for (XX number of years). Do you think that because of your service/longevity/commitment (you teach, are a Deacon, attend on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening, organize or attend outreach, etc., to the church make you anymore entitled than a new Christian, or someone who only comes on Sunday morning for an hour and warms the pew with their backside?

There are some so-called Christians who have been members for 50+ years and who feel that because their grandparents, parents, family, etc., and were the founding members of said church that they themselves should be rewarded/given special treatment…Hmm Jesus made His thoughts on this subject quite evident in the parable of the Landowner and workers in Matthew 19: 1-16. In this parable there were workers who were hired at the beginning of the day for a agreed upon pay, and others who were hired throughout the day up to a group hired at or near the end of the day (one hour left). At the end of the day the Landowner, “Jesus” paid the last called first and the first called last and paid all the same amount regardless of the amount of time each worked.

This is a perfect example of Grace for ALL. Our rewards in Heaven are not based upon how much “works” we have done but on our being bought and paid for by Him. Why do folks think they deserve more because they have served longer, or given more $$$? We are ALL equal in the eyes of the Lord, and ALL unworthy of His Grace. We should ALL be Humbly Grateful that He took mercy upon us and sent His Son to die on the cross for OUR sins. Look deeply into your heart and ask yourself the question, are you Gratefully Humble, or Grumbly Hateful? Do you rejoice when the Sinner is saved and the thief on the cross was as well, would you open your arms just as Jesus did? Or…?

Father, I pray this morning that My heart is open to Your Grace and that My arms are open to those whom You Lord have called and shown Grace to regardless of where they have been or what they have done. May I show Your love and compassion to all your servants, and may my Works be always for Your Glory and may I always accept the payment you paid for me, a sinner, saved by Grace. For it is in Jesus Holy Name I Pray. AMEN

Thanks Roby!
Salvation by grace, not by works, lest any man boast.
