Breakfast with God 20250323

Post by Roby.evans »

Good morning, Friends,

Breakfast with God today revolves around a specific question, “Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good”.

Do you fear man, are you afraid to share the Gospel at work, at play, or even at home to your family and friends about how Jesus changed you because of what others may think, say or do towards you or your family? What about your walk with God? Have you shared your testimony with others, did they know you or have they seen you before you became a Christian and you are afraid, they might ridicule you because of it? Many Christians today are terrified by the aspect of being referred to as (A Christian) by the world because of their past sins that haunt us and stifle our witness for the Lord. However, we as born-again Christians should be empowered and emboldened even to the point of being zealous in our belief because of our past. I know that my past has brought me to where I am today, and my failures have strengthened me in my testimony for His Grace. I am not afraid to stand and proclaim He is Lord and there is nothing man can say or do that could change that.

Today I am studying 1 Peter 3: 13-17 NASB. Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

As I look around at other religions, I see zealousness for their belief that seems to be lacking in our Christian brothers and sisters, and when I say zealousness, I do not mean a fanatical mindset to the point of violence but having a fiery zeal for the Lord. Yes, there are televangelists spreading the Gospel on various media platforms but what about us, the common man on the street, why are we not on fire for the Lord every single day, sharing His Good News to every person we meet? Is it because we are afraid of our lack of knowledge of the Bible or can’t quote Scripture eloquently? Are we afraid that we cannot give a good defense of why we believe what we believe? Are we afraid if we were to get questioned that we would stumble? I urge you to place your trust in Him, He will guide your steps and your words for His Glory if you first take it to Him in prayer, ask Him to show you the way and to guide your thoughts, actions and words to share with those you come in contact and to be bold in your stance in defiance to the world. Take heed and be strengthened by the scripture above regardless of the suffering that is sure to come for your stance against the world and your belief in your Savior Jesus.

Father, I thank you for your Word that strengthens me and the knowledge that your protection regardless of the worldly persecution will be for your glory. I ask that not only I but all of my friends and family will be powerfully moved with your strength to do battle with the world in your name and face those battles fearless and with a zeal to share the Good News of Jesus to all. Father, I ask you to guide our hearts, minds, and tongues in all aspects of our lives for your glory and praise. I Jesus name. AMEN
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13
