Breakfast with God 20250424

Post by Roby.evans »

Good Morning Friends,

It has been several days since my last post, and I come to you this morning with a heavy heart in regards to how I have seen many a Brother and Sister in Christ speak and act towards one another and to those in leadership positions not only in your church family but to those in elected government positions whether you voted for them or not is irrelevant. It is a fine line we must toe as Christians and our perception presented to the world. We must hold to a high standard of accountability and love each other as Christ has loved us, if we are not then we must check ourselves and cleanse our hearts of the sin which is driving our unchristian like actions, thoughts, and words.

As the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5: 11-22 NKJV, 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

When I study and pray before writing I ask myself if I am guilty of the things to which I am writing about and sadly I would have to confess I am not perfect. However, I take it to the Lord in prayer asking that I be corrected in my thoughts and actions and cleansed and that He may use me for His Glory. I see too many cases where Christians are not treating others with the love of Christ and sometimes love can be a correcting love, a holding accountable love, a peaceful love, a non-vindictive love, and a patient love. Instigating strife is not what we are called to do but to lift up and strengthen all, even our enemies in the name of Christ and in Love just as He would have us do. I truly love the verses above and pray that we all, and that includes religions, denominations, races, demographics, genders, political and neo-political entities could come together in Christ and that we could lift one another up instead of tearing one another down to make ourselves feel better about our stance whatever it may be.

Father, I thank you for your Word that gives us direction and correction and a template for how we should be treating one another. I pray that I may reach out with Christ love in every situation and every person I come in contact with and that they may see Christ in me. In Jesus most holy name. AMEN.
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13

Will do, our group is a valued asset to many folks, even to those who may just peruse without committing. Just to know we are here can be helpful. Thank you Josh and Eric and all the other members who help make this site possible.
