Christian Conduct

Post by Roby.evans »

1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 NASB
[12] But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, [13] and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. [14] We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. [15] See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. [16] Rejoice always; [17] pray without ceasing; [18] in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. [19] Do not quench the Spirit; [20] do not despise prophetic utterances. [21] But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; [22] abstain from every form of evil.
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13

Seems like this one is saying look for the good (meaning be good) and stay away from the bad (don’t be bad). Also seems to say don’t take everything at face value. Examine and study.

Eric, the Lord gave us specific commands on how we are supposed to be. We are to show LOVE to all, regardless of who or what the situation is. Our love should be as His love for us is, eternal. Love is also holding those accountable and not condoning sin but showing His love by doing this always. We are to love the sinner but hate the sin.
Matthew 22:37-39 NASB
[37] And He said to him, "'You SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' [38] This is the great and foremost commandment. [39] The second is like it, 'You SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13
