Breakfast with God 20241013

Post by Roby.evans »

Good Morning Friends.

As I set here with my bible in one hand and coffee in the other reflecting on the passage I have been studying and praying about from the Prophets Jeremiah and Obadiah regarding Edom, I find striking parallel to the hearts and minds as a nation and as a people display towards God.

Jeremiah 49:7 “is there no longer any wisdom in Teman, has good counsel been lost to the prudent, has their wisdom decayed?” America and many Americans have strayed from the wisdom of the Lord, placing trust in their wealth and in man’s wisdom. What? Didn’t Satan even try to tempt or entice Jesus with possessions and power too, what makes you any different? God promised destruction to those who lifted themselves up and worshiped wealth (bigger-better-faster-nicer-newer-keep up with the Jones’-retire wealthy-life of luxury-no worries if you do what man say’s) seems like this has become the American mantra. But this is contrary to what the Lord has said repeatedly.

Are we today seeing in our nation the fruits of our folly? Just look at the economy alone, then look at the moral degradation of our youth, the ambivalence of the baby-boomers towards God and One-way and only One-way to Heaven methodology. We are only a generation away from bible preaching church leaders being a thing of the past…you don’t believe me, look at the amount of prosperity gospel preachers inundating the airwaves with their feel-good gospel and being bought into by the masses. Gone are the days of Holy Gospel Truth and Accountability preachers and teachers. Families have dissolved into the I’m too busy for God, I’m too busy for Church, I’m just too lazy for church, I’m not willing to sacrifice for The Lord. What we are seeing is a I don’t trust the God of our fathers; they are placing their trust in man…oh how sad it is. I can see how Jeremiah was referred to as the weeping prophet because he was told of the destruction coming and the people would not listen to his warning.
I too weep for our country, and especially for our youth for they are going to suffer for our disobedience to the Word of God. Now I am not saying that COVID is a plague brought on by God, nor will I say that the current political turmoil we are facing, or that the inflation and lack of faith in our leaders is God’s work but…sure points to the hand of Satan being involved.

How then can we effect change? Pray, Repent, be Leaders, be BOLD CHRISTIANS. On many Saturdays across our nation there are men’s prayer breakfast for groups of local churches, and I look forward to the gathering
of men of God to pray and to strengthen each other just as iron strengthens iron, we must sharpen each other’s Holy Sword for battle as we don the Full Armor of God and march forward into battle as Soldiers in the Army of the Lord.

Father, I know my armor is rusty and dented and has not been fully used as intended, it has even been placed in a closet a time or two while I failed to live up to Your Grace. Father, I ask that my armor be renewed and strengthened with Your Holy Word and The Holy Spirt lead me and us into battle with the full assurance of Your Victory coming. I ask Lord that my battles be for Your Glory as I face Satan at every turn. Father bless this gathering of men in your name, and may your holy spirit fill the hearts of each of us and prepare us to meet “The World” who is trying to erase you for the minds of Americans. Lord, I ask this in Jesus most holy name. AMEN
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13

Thought provoking for sure. I draw parallels of America today to the end of the Roman Empire. Is all about money vs our fellow man.
