Breakfast with God 20250305

Post by Roby.evans »

Good Morning Friends,

Our example to follow today and every day is displayed by Jesus; He set the standard for us to follow and to show others by our actions what is means to be a CHRISTIAN especially in the arena regarding suffering and persecution which we will all face one day. 1 Peter 21-23 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example to following His steps. Who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering He uttered no threats but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; NASB.

Christianity or being a Christian is not akin to a buffet line of living, you can’t have a little bit of obedience, a smattering of sacrifice, a helping of humility and service all topped off with a desert of disobedience and cup full of Sin to wash it down. You can’t pick and choose what parts of being a Christian, a follower of Jesus example you want to have. It is either all or nothing. Salvation or damnation are your only choices. Yes, this is a bold proclamation, but it is the truth. Our actions are to mirror His actions, we are made in His image and are to reflect Him in all we say and do. It has been said that times have changed, and the world has changed dramatically since biblical times and that the bible should keep up with the times…Oh heck no! The standard is the same now as it was then. Sin is still a Sin and cannot be changed or disguised or called by another “feel good” name no matter what the media proclaims and pushes on the world to accept. With that said, we as Christians MUST follow in His footsteps and follow His example in every aspect of our lives and carry ourselves as Christians during times of prosperity and persecution, at home and at work, with friends and with enemies, with folks would speak our language and with those who don’t, with those of same or different ethnicity. Jesus did not look at race but looked at the heart of ALL and is we are to be like Him then we should too.

Father; my prayer this morning is I know I fail continually but I pray to be a better Christian, may everyone see in me only You and may my thoughts, actions, speech be pleasing to you in everything I do and say at all times. Father; as we face uncertain times ahead, times of wars and rumors of wars may I follow in your footsteps and example, I humbly ask in Jesus most holy name. AMEN
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13
