Breakfast with God 20250710

Post by Roby.evans »

Good Morning Friends,

As I was studying and praying this morning on Exodus 20:17, the 10th Commandment “Thou shall not covet” stung me deep and made me consider what I have seen and heard friends and family say, as they seem to live by the phrase, “When and Then”. When I get that new car, then I’ll be happy, when I get that new job, then I’ll be happy, when I pay off my bill, then I’ll give to the Lord/Church, etc.. As Christians in America today we are inundated with advertisements for buy now pay later, you deserve the best, keep up with the Jones’s in your face constantly barrage and it is all driven by Satan and his ability to find a weakness to exploit and the Sin of covetousness is wide open and running rampant across our nation and within our congregations.

I have a two-letter word to combat covetousness in yours and my life, BE:
Be-A Christian who is thankful for what you have.
Be- A Christian who is rejoicing for what others have.
Be- A Christian who is helpful to others.
Be- A Christian who is humble.
Be- A Christian who is considerate.
Be- A Christian who is generous.
Be- A Christian who is loving.
Be- A Christian who is a Christian.
What an idea, could you imagine what we could accomplish if we all could just BE.

Father, I thank you for your Word that shine its light deep within the recesses of our lives and exposes our darkness. I ask that today your Word replace the darkness with your light and that we can be the person and the people you designed us to be, in your likeness Lord. Replace the covetousness in our lives with joyfulness and rejoicing for others and a Christian attitude of gladness that comes from knowing you as our Lord and Savior. Lord lead us and protect us and correct us with the Holy Spirit intervention in our lives to draw us closer to you.
In Jesus Most Holy Name. AMEN.
In His Service,
Philippians 4:13
