Good Morning Friends,

Friends; as I was having coffee and a wonderful conversation with the Lord this morning, we were discussing James 1 and He impressed upon my heart to consider the following.

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4 NKJV

Do you really truly trust in God or are you just fooling yourself and others. Where is your faith, is it in God or is it in man? For some this is a sore subject, and many will get defensive when truth is presented and truth denied. It is inevitable that throughout our time here on Earth as Christians that we will be faced with troubles, trials, testing, and prosecution if our faith is on full display for the “world to see” then the possibility and probability of persecution.

When life happens, how do you handle it? How does your family, your co-workers, strangers, or even your church family, see your reaction? Do they see anger, resentment, and denial, blame gaming, etc. Or do they see “a Christian who relies on his faith in God”. When things do not go your way, or the way you think they should go, what is your reaction? When you have a flat tire on the way to work, do you thank God? When a sickness comes to your family or your body, do you thank God? When your boss jumps down your throat for something you were not responsible for, do you thank God? When the person in the car in front of you is driving slower than you think they should be and holding back traffic, do you thank God? When you spill coffee on your pants and must go change and it makes you late to church, do you thank God? The list could go on forever. What about that promotion, raise, demotion, purchase/sell of a house, marriage/divorce, death (insert life here). What about when good things happen? Are we giving God the praise for ALL things in our lives, both good and bad, even though the bad may be for our benefit but we just don’t recognize as such “yet”. I remember a saying in the Army when we would get in trouble and get “smoked”, we would respond with, “Thank you for conditioning my mind and body”. What if we responded to God in the same way!!!

In our materialistic, self-centered, media driven, Satan influenced society it is harder and harder for Christians to separate themselves from the World and even harder to keep the World from influencing our children and grandchildren. We must set the example and live a Spirit filled life for ALL the World to see. They MUST see the Faith we have in God, and it must be evident in our daily walk, how we respond both outwardly and inwardly to the trials before us. So many times, we have heard and used the phrase, Take it to the Lord in Prayer, is this flippant use or is this true belief in the power of prayer. Do you believe 100% in the power of God in EVERY aspect of life? Think about this and seek inside your heart, ask yourself the hard question.

If only I could practice this in my own life, He is showing me His love and affection for me if only I would look at what He shows me, and how He wants me to be a better person and see the blessings in front of me instead of the delay or disappointment or anger. I could respond to Him with a resounding, “Thank you Lord for conditioning my mind and body”. In return maybe I can share His blessings with others through His Word.

Some good coffee and conversation this morning for sure. Thank you Lord!

Father, I thank you for your Word, your Son, and the Holy Spirit and that I can place my trust in Holy Trinity. Father, I ask that I allow you to guide my heart, mind and steps and the direction to you. Lord, may I give you the praise and glory for the good and bad, the trials and triumphs in my live and that I may show others by my actions and reactions what and who I am, a bond slave in Christ resting in the security of Eternal salvation through Jesus Christ death, burial and resurrection. In His Most Holy Name I ask. AMEN
